Aintree should not be reduced to one race. The Grand National course has its own demands and visual identity, while other races at the venue can be staged on the Mildmay or hurdles tracks and need to be understood on their own terms.
For the Grand National itself, race shape, jumping experience, stamina and the unusual scale of the field matter alongside conventional form. The Thoroughbred should make those contextual differences explicit rather than flattening every Aintree race into the same template.
